Adulticiding

Adulticiding targets adult, flying mosquitoes when surveillance data shows populations have reached levels that require treatment. Treatments are conducted after sunset, when mosquitoes are active and beneficial insects, such as pollinators, are less active.

What methods are used?

Depending on the location, size of the treatment area, mosquito activity, and surveillance data, adulticides may be applied using:

The treatment method is selected based on the specific needs and conditions of the area, allowing our team to target adult mosquito populations efficiently and effectively.

Nighttime treatment needs are determined daily using current surveillance data and conditions. Because mosquito activity can change quickly, treatment areas may vary from day to day. This daily evaluation helps ensure treatments are targeted, efficient, and effective.

You can view scheduled nighttime treatments on our Treatment Areas page or follow us on Facebook for updates. Residents can also sign up for Night Mission Alerts to receive notifications when a nighttime treatment is scheduled for their area.
